The series below is from a photo shoot I did to create reference photos for my painting White Noise in my BFA Exit Show.
My model (and roommate) Victoria was so inspiring, the photos had to exist on their own, outside of the painting.
In the summer of 2022 I was extremely lucky to be able to study abroad in Cortona, Italy with the University of Georgia. While I was there, I took an intro to photography class and created these projects, discovering my love for the camera.
This collection is based on Carrie Mae Weems’ “Kitchen Table Series” from 1990.
This collection below was inspired by chiaroscuro portraiture common in Italian renaissance art. I used my friends as models and a single light source.
The collection was displayed at La Mostra in Cortona, Italy in August 2022.
